Dan Jex is the baritone and founding member of the “Joyful Sounds”. He and his wife Vicky have been married for 38 years. Their son Todd and daughter-in-law Erin who live in Wisconsin have two girls (Lauren & Molly) and their daughter Heather and son in-law Mike have a son (Austton) and a daughter (Auttum). When Dan isn’t running his business “First Call Inspection Services” as a plumbing and mechanical inspector he likes to deer hunt and spend time with his Grandchildren. Music has always been a part of Dan’s life from playing the Coronet, the guitar, or singing in the church choir. Dan enjoys singing with the Joyful Sounds and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ through song.
Dan originally sang with a group called “Disciples 3” in the 1970’s with members Barb Carson, Joyce Stein,
with Nadine Wilton on Piano. Then, during a church service in 1989, he decided to form a new group. The
group including Dan, Don Maness, David Falk, and Fred Wilcome would become “The Joyful Sounds”.
Past and current members include: David Allison, Wayne Carson (bass guitar), Jim Dell, Dennis Kelch,
David Price Jr., Rick Etzel (drums), Marg Etzel (sound technician), and Jean Willard (piano).
